News & Announcements
A NOTE from RIDE's Past President:
It
is with regret that I announce RIDE of ROCHESTER as an organization has been disbanded. While I had much to do
with the vision and dreams for this organization, I had nothing to do with this decision. It is still my firm belief
that RIDE's philosophy and mission was/is sound, that people can do better by the horses we receive so much pleasure from, that
people in turn can be helped by horses.
One person CAN change the world, be it
for the betterment of others or selfish reasons. Choose YOUR path, try to leave kindness in your wake, and don't
forget the people and animals in need of support in this world. Pray for the animals, and each other.
Thank YOU to the many wonderful people who allowed RIDE into their lives for the briefest time.
To those still owed monies by RIDE, I will personally assume this dept, and payment will be forthcoming soon. If you
have yet to make full payment for a horse received, now would be a good time to do your part and make payment.
It is my hope that someone will step forward to fill the void RIDE needed to fill; that a new Non-Profit
will arise to serve SE Minnesota. When it does, I will be as always your willing volunteer.
Respectfully-
Mary Jones
RIDE
Rescue/Recreation Involving Deserving
Equine (RIDE) was a non-profit serving South East Minnesota's Equestrian Community. It promoted the rescue
and rehabilitation of horses in need and the advancement of animal assisted therapeutic programming for humans. RIDE's work
wass entirely volunteer driven, and donor funded. Our network consisted of foster homes, care providers, therapists, and other
volunteers help humans and horses in a variety of situation with many levels of need. Since it's formal inception in 2008,
RIDE voiced a commitment to offering cutting edge animal assisted therapeutic recreational and outdoor programs to the public
plus rehabilitation services to horses in need and education for their owners.
RIDE supported South East
Minnesota's Equestrian organizations to promote fun and learning opportunities that involve horses. RIDE's goal wass to promote
an outdoor and animal involved lifestyle while educating to encourage safe, healthful horse (and other animal) ownership and
human relationships. RIDE had volunteer opportunities available for current horse owners, riders, those who were interested
in learning more about horses and horse ownership, and those considering adoption of one of our animals.
We
are dedicated to serving our horses needs, as well as those of our human consumers. Our animal goal was 100% adoption satisfaction
and we strove to bring you the best in rescue placement service. Our service to human goals were to enrich the lives of those
we touch and open doors to new experiences. If you are a former adoptor, and need assistance with the horse RIDE place with
you, please feel free to contact RIDE's former loyal volunteers at info@riderochester.org . Somone will still assist you!
Remember only law enforcement may remove a horse or other
farm animal for neglect or abuse!!
